At SparkLayer, we’ve been on a mission to make B2B eCommerce easier to adopt, faster to launch, and more profitable for merchants of all sizes. We’ve now supported over 3,000 live retailers to activate and scale their wholesale channels with software that delivers real, measurable impact.
Today, we’re announcing the next step in our journey: Neil Kuschel is joining SparkLayer as Executive Chairman.
Neil has been involved with SparkLayer for over two and a half years as a Non-Executive Director, working closely with our leadership team and helping shape our go-to-market strategy. In his new role, he will be more deeply involved in strategic planning, commercial execution, and investor engagement as we look to accelerate growth and expand our reach.
The SparkLayer Leadership Team: Neil Kuschel, Chris Mattingly, Alex Weston, Rhys Laval
Neil brings extensive experience from the eCommerce and technology world. He was formerly European CEO at Global-e, where he played a central role in scaling the business ahead of its IPO, and most recently served as UK CEO of InPost. Alongside these executive roles, Neil advises and invests in a number of high-growth technology companies.
In his expanded role at SparkLayer, Neil will work with the team on refining our strategy, strengthening partnerships, and ensuring we’re delivering exceptional value to merchants as they grow their B2B operations.
“As SparkLayer continues to grow,” said Chris Mattingly, Co-Founder and CEO of SparkLayer, “Neil’s experience and strategic perspective will be invaluable in shaping our next chapter. He knows this market well, and his insights will help us serve more merchants and build even more compelling products.”
Commenting on his appointment, Neil Kuschel said: “B2B and wholesale eCommerce is on the cusp of a fundamental transformation. Brands are demanding the same speed, flexibility, and intelligence in B2B that they’ve come to expect in DTC, and SparkLayer is uniquely positioned to lead that shift. The momentum the team has built is extraordinary, and as we move from startup to scale-up, the ambition - and the opportunity - is vast.”
This appointment reflects our ongoing commitment to build a business that deeply understands the needs of B2B merchants and supports them with the right technology, strategy, and leadership as they scale.
We’re looking forward to working even more closely with Neil as we continue to expand SparkLayer’s impact in B2B eCommerce in 2026 and beyond.
