The Xero integration for SparkLayer is native - no third-party connector tools required. When a B2B order placed through SparkLayer reaches Processing or Shipped, an invoice is created in Xero with the customer matched or created automatically, and products, tax, shipping and totals included. Payment status and outstanding balances then sync back into SparkLayer, so your sales team and your customers see the same figures your finance team does.

Which SparkLayer plan do I need to use the Xero integration?
The Xero integration is available on the Professional and Enterprise plans, for merchants running Shopify. You enable it in the SparkLayer Dashboard under Integrations > Partner Integrations > Accountancy > Xero, and authenticate directly with your Xero account.
When do invoices get created in Xero?
Invoices are created automatically for B2B orders paid by 'Payment by Invoice' or 'Payment on Account' once the order reaches processing or shipped status - with Payment on Account optionally invoicing per fulfilment. Invoices arrive in Xero as 'Submitted' (or 'Draft' when a due date cannot be determined).
How are Xero contacts handled?
SparkLayer matches orders to your existing Xero contacts, or creates contacts automatically if you enable that in the integration settings. You can also configure account codes, line item mapping and tracking categories.
Can I see payments from Xero in SparkLayer?
Yes - with payment visibility enabled, payments recorded in Xero are tracked back into SparkLayer.
Are there any limitations to the Xero integration?
Invoice creation is one-way - changes made to invoices in Xero are not reflected back in SparkLayer. Contacts created in Xero are not auto-updated when SparkLayer customer data changes, multiple tax rates per line item are not supported, credit limits configured in Xero cannot sync to SparkLayer, and the integration covers B2B orders only.
